Seethawaka Botanical Garden

How to reach this place?

If you will come from Colombo, you should keep your way via Puwakpitiya station at the left hand side. After that, you should turn right from the next junction. And take the “Puwakpitiya-Thummodara” road and should travel nearly 3 km in order to reach this Seethawaka Botanical Garden. Unlike other botanical gardens, this has less amount of flowers, but they are blooming throughout the year to showcase of heirloom.

Seethawaka Botanical Garden – Things to See

This botanical garden is open in all the days from 8.00am to 6.00pm, but the tickets are issued until 5.00 pm only. The lake, view point and rose garden at the summit are the most attractive things in this garden.

Wherever you’ll roam inside this garden you should refrain from indecent disorderly behaviour and being a nuisance to others. And as a support to maintain the beauty of this Seethawaka Botanical Garden, you should place the rubbish in the bins provided or take your garbage home for recycling.

This garden occupies 43 hectares (106 acres) and to observe the whole garden you can either walk by yourself or can hire a garden owned vehicle and discover the beauty. And there are many rare plants which are unique to wet zone in Sri Lanka, in this garden. As mentioned above, there is a lake in this Seethawaka Botanical Garden and you can have swan boat rides there. But you should buy tickets from the entrance, if you wish to have that. Therefore, don’t forget to visit this Seethawaka Botanical Garden which is one of best destinations to spend your leisure time with your dearests. Because you will have picturesque views and get lost in nature there.
